Argentiferous galena occurs in a vein within phyllite of the Lardeau Group. The Mountain Boy Group of two claims was reported in 1899 to have a good showing of ore similar in character to that of the nearby Silver Dollar (082KNW101).

A 27 metre tunnel was completed in 1899 and was to be driven another 8 metres to intersect the vein. In 1902, the Mountain Boy was Crown-granted to J.A. Magee et al.
