The KT20-197 showing is located about 12 kilometres northeast of the village of Yahk and 2 kilometres east of the Moyie River.
In general, the region is underlain by argillite, greywacke, wacke and conglomerate turbidites of the Helikian Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup). Gabbro-diorite sills and dikes of the Proterozoic Moyie Intrusions intrude the sequence.
In 2020, samples taken from “Marker” mudstone containing pyrrhotite and green porphyroblasts returned 0.18 per cent zinc (KT20-197A) and 0.05 per cent copper (KT20-197Bv) (Assessment Report 39483). Kootenay Silver Inc referred to "Marker" or marker muds as stratigraphically consistent bands of alternating light and dark varved laminated mud and siltstone. Kootenay Silver reported that this unit occurred throughout the middle Aldridge formation and could be matched line for line across large areas. Pyrrhotite and pyrite are often finely disseminated within these intervals and due to their relative consistency are good indicators for changes in metal content.
WORK HISTORY
In 2020, a program of rock and soil sampling was conducted by Kootenay Resources Inc on their Moyie Anticline property utilizing both laboratory and portable XRF analytical techniques (Assessment Report 39483). During the 2020 field program more than 1420 XRF readings were taken and compiled. Several areas with anomalous lead, zinc, copper as well as gold were found during the program. The Moyie Anticline property covered parts of the 082GSW and 082FSE map areas.
