At the Ross 2 showing, galena occurs within black argillites and quartzites of the Helikian Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup) both as disseminations within the stratigraphy, associated with pyrite, and in crosscutting quartz veinlets. Galena was noted in drill hole 5-75 at 80 metres depth (Assessment Report 5901).
The 1982 airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey carried out over large parts of the Bull River property on behalf of owner/operator R.H. Stanfield identified eight target areas for sulphide mineralization (Assessment Report 10570). The Dogwood 11 claim that contains the Ross 2 occurrence was part of the surveyed area.
In 1992 a helicopter borne DIGHEM survey over the Balsam, Cedar and Dogwood claims of R. H. Stanfield (Bul River Mineral Corporation Ltd.) was completed but appears to be just to the southwest of the Ross 2 occurrence (Assessment Report 23012). In 2017, an NI43-101 technical report for Purcell Basin Minerals Inc. processed and published Dighem airborne survey data from 1991-1997 surveys (Assessment Report 37195).
Refer to Bull River (082GNW002) for details of the greater Bull River property which contained the Ross 2 occurrence and 25 other MINFILE documented mineral occurrences (as of October 2022).
