The 29Q occurrence is located about 43 kilometers southeast of the town of Fernie, about 750 metres north of Twentynine Mile Creek.
The 29Q area is underlain by quartzite breccia, sandstone and siltstone of the Proterozoic Purcell Super group. These are intruded by syenite and trachyte sills and dikes. A 1986, rock sample (29Q-7B) collected by Cominco immediately east of Anomaly B assayed 60 parts per billion gold and 26.2 grams per tonne silver over 5 meters (Assessment Report 15095). Two other nearby 5 metre chip samples assayed 0.1 gram per tonne gold. Chip and grab samples from some altered outcrops within Anomalies A, B, C, and D were analyzed for gold and silver only.
See Eastern Outlier (082GSE078) for work history and related geological information on the Howell property.
