The Southbank Jack showing is located about 150 metres southeast of Lewis Creek on the Jackleg (Jacleg) property, approximately 27 kilometres northeast of Kimberly. The showing area is underlain by rocks of the Mesoproterozoic (Helikian) Purcell Supergroup, Fort Steele Formation consisting largely of quartzite and siltstone. Gabbro dikes and sills of the Helikian Moyie Intrusions intrude the stratigraphy.
In 2012, strongly sheared gabbro hosting quartz-calcite-chlorite-pyrite-chalcopyrite veins was sampled. Sample SKPX12-49 graded 0.24 per cent copper and1.6 gram per tonne silver (Assessment Report 33700).
WORK HISTORY
In 2011, PJX Resources Inc. conducted geological mapping, prospecting, and rock sampling, resulting in the collection of 660 rock samples. These samples were collected from seven map areas on their Dewdney Trail property called Jacleg, Lewis Creek, Trail Creek, Upper Tackle Creek, Tackle Creek, Upper Spirit Creek and M1 (Figure 1 Assessment Report 32868). All samples were assayed and plotted on map areas and, except for samples MKPx 1-35, were briefly described and given a UTM location. In addition to rocks sample and mapping PJX carried out trenching and diamond drilling on targeted areas of the property.
In early 2012 field season PJX Resources conducted a program consisting of geological mapping, prospecting, and rock sampling (55 samples) on the Jacleg block in southeast BC Assessment Report 33700). Work was completed primarily in the Wolf Creek area located in the north central portion of the property. Only 1 of 15 samples taken at the Wolf Creek occurrence area in 2012 was significant.
