The Bill Nye showing is located about 30 kilometres east-northeast of Kimberley and about 1 kilometre southeast of Mount Bill Nye.

The showing area is underlain mainly by argillite, greywacke, and quartzite of the Helikian Aldridge Formation, Purcell Supergroup. The stratigraphy is intruded by Cretaceous syenite.

In 2001, 4 rock sample were collected by National Gold Corp on their Tac property along an east-west trending ridge about 1.2 kilometres southeast of Mount Bill Nye. The most significant sample (TC-04) graded 3.5 per cent lead, 0.12 per cent zinc and 52.5 grams per tonne silver (Figure 4, Assessment Report 26714). This sample was collected from a 30-centimetre-wide quartz vein with clots of galena and pyrite. The vein occurs within a zone of syenite and felsic dikes and sills and has a strike of 050 degrees with 15-degree dip to the southeast. Sample TC-8 was collected 300 metres east along the ridge where an old pit with limonite and pyrite-rich quartz float occurs. 30-centimetre-wide blocks were also observed. This sample graded 1 gram per tonne gold and 2.6 grams per tonne silver (Figure 4, Assessment Report 26714).

In 2011, PJX Resources Inc. conducted geological mapping, prospecting, and rock sampling, resulting in the collection of 660 rock samples. These samples were collected from seven map areas on their Dewdney Trail property called Jacleg, Lewis Creek, Trail Creek, Upper Tackle Creek, Tackle Creek, Upper Spirit Creek, and M1 (Figure 1 Assessment Report 32868). All samples were assayed and plotted on map area and, except for samples MKPx 1-35, were briefly described and given a UTM location. In addition to rocks sample and mapping PJX carried out trenching and diamond drilling on targeted areas of the property. About 20 samples were collected at the Bill Nye showing area in 2011. Several of these samples had assays that were anomalous in gold with one sample grading 1.48 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 32868).

In 2014, PJX collected 45 rock samples and conducting geological mapping, including the area of the Bill Nye showing (Assessment Report 35582).

In 2016 to 2022, PJX Resources Inc. conducted geological mapping, rock geochemistry sampling, airborne geophysics, and drilling on the Dewdney Trail Property (Assessment Reports 36649, 38859, 40906, 40908).

Refer to Lewis (082GNW104) for related details on the Lewis Creek prospecting area, and Tac (082GNW094) for related details on the Tackle Creek prospecting area, contained within the Dewdney Trail Property.
