The Dewdney 40 showing is located about 30 kilometres east-northeast of Kimberley in the headwaters of Tackle Creek.
The showing area is underlain by sedimentary rock of the Helikian Aldridge and Creston Formations, Purcell Supergroup. In 2014, prospecting was carried out in the Lewis Creek area by PJX Resources Inc. who collected 45 rock samples for analysis.
An east-flowing tributary to Tackle Creek (at its headwaters) cuts across the north-trending contact of the Aldridge and Creston formations. Mineralized quartz veins occur in outcrop on both sides of the contact along the tributary over a 305 metre (plus) length.
On the west side of the contact, sample DT40 was collected from thin quartz veins within grey pyrite-rich siltstone in a larger 8-metre-wide limonitic zone of the Creston Formation. The quartz veins contained iron-carbonate (siderite?), chalcopyrite, and galena. The sample values were low, analyzing only 0.041 per copper, 0.023 per cent lead, and 4 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 35582).
Samples DT41, 42 and 43 were taken west of the contact in argillite of the Aldridge Formation. Sub-crops of quartz breccia and thin, pyrite-rich quartz veins contained galena. All 3 samples had elevated gold with DT41 and DT43 grading 0.43 and 0.42 gram per tonne gold, respectfully (Assessment Report 35582). All three samples were anomalous in lead, zinc, and copper (Assessment Report 35582). Manganese (0.33 per cent), magnesium (2.46 per cent) and strontium (0.077per cent) values were elevated in sample DT43.
In 2016 to 2022, PJX Resources Inc. conducted geological mapping, rock geochemistry sampling, airborne geophysics, and drilling on the Dewdney Trail Property (Assessment Reports 36649, 38859, 40906, 40908).
