The JAMTT (May-Hope) occurrence is located on a northwest trending ridge separating Bird and Fortynine creeks.
The area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Elise Formation (Rossland Group), which have been intruded by dioritic intrusive rocks of the early Jurassic Eagle Creek Plutonic Complex and syenitic to monzonitic intrusive rocks of the Eocene Coryell Plutonic Suite.
Locally, un-altered volcanics host narrow, up to 20- centimetre wide, quartz veins associated with a 15 to 25 centimetre wide shear zone. These both host minor pyrite and chalcopyrite. In 1989, sampling of trenches yielded up to 1.13 grams per tonne gold, 40 grams per tonne silver and 2.62 per cent copper from a sample (BCS 18439) of vein material, while a sample (BCS 18440) of the volcanic host assayed 0.44 gram per tonne gold and 0.154 per cent copper (Property File - L. Lee (1989-11-01): Summary Report - 49 Creek).
A copper-gold occurrence is reported on the Annie mineral claim to the east but no further information is available.
During 1986 through 1989, programs of prospecting, soil and rock sampling and trenching were completed on the area as the 49 Creek group.
