The Gail and Linda claims are located on the western slope of Old Glory Mountain, approximately 13 kilometres northwest of Rossland.

The area is underlain by syenitic to monzonitic rocks of the Middle Eocene Coryell intrusions.

In 1977, Sharp Exploration Syndicate staked the claims to cover a uranium anomaly discovered during a regional stream sediment sampling program. In 1978, Lacana Mining Corp. optioned the property and completed exploration programs of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical sampling over the next two years. A stream geochemical uranium anomaly was identified and returned values up to 1340 parts per million uranium (Assessment Report 6715).
