Capsule Geology

The Summit showing is located 8 kilometres northeast of Ymir. The Summit claim was originally staked in 1896. The vein has been developed by 100 metres of underground workings.

The area is underlain by metamorphosed sediments comprising argillite, siltstone, limestone and wacke of the Lower Jurassic Ymir Group. The Middle to Late Jurassic Nelson Intrusions occur to the east (Nelson Batholith) and west.

The Summit vein is a milky white, vuggy quartz vein 3 to 4 metres in width, exposed over 700 metres along strike. The vein, hosted in argillite, carries minor values in gold, silver, lead and zinc as pyrite, pyrrhotite, galena and sphalerite. Manganese oxides occur parallel to the vein walls which vary in strike from 050 to 067 degrees and dip steeply north.

Recent work indicates that the vein, which has a similar attitude, may be part of a larger vein system that includes the Pathfinder, Old Timer (MINFILE 082FSW081) and Elise (MINFILE 082FSW192) veins.

In 1982, Donald G. Allen completed prospecting and geochemical sampling.

In 1984, Stan A. Endersby and Donald G. Allen completed a small soil and rock sampling program in the area.

In 1985, Stan A. Endersby and Donald G. Allen conducted prospecting, soil sampling and a VLF-EM geophysical survey.

In 1986, G.M. Allen and D. Endersby executed a small exploration program of prospecting and soil geochemistry.

In 1993, Stan A. Endersby carried out a geochemical sampling program and geological mapping in the area. Thirteen rock samples were taken from the area around the Summit occurrence. One sample of angular, drusy quartz float assayed 29.1 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 23119).

In 1995, Stan A. Endersby completed 7.4 line-kilometres of VLF-EM and self-potential EM geophysical surveys and collected 81 soil samples.

In 1997, Stan A. Endersby executed 6.8 line-kilometres of VLF-EM geophysical surveys.

In 1998, Stan A. Endersby conducted 4.7 line-kilometres of VLF-EM geophysical surveys and collected 58 soil samples.

In 2004, Auramex Resource Corp. optioned the claims from Stan A. Endersby and completed three diamond drillholes targeting the Summit vein. Drillhole SO-04-01 returned 1.8 metres grading 0.394 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 27539).

In 2005, Auramex Resources Corp. executed a diamond drill program consisting of 24 holes totaling 2305.61 metres. Three of the holes were targeting the Summit vein, with all holes intersecting the vein structure. No significant values were returned from the three holes.

In 2009, Stan A. Endersby completed 9.35 line-kilometres of magnetometer geophysical surveys on an area to the southeast of the Summit showing.

In 2018, Margaux Resources Ltd. optioned the property and completed a program of historical data compilation, re-logging of select core from the 2004-2005 drilling program, minor prospecting and rock sampling. The option was dropped in 2019.

In 2020, Rockland Resources Ltd. optioned the property and completed a program of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling and an airborne (drone) magnetic survey on the area as the Old Timer property.
