The CK20-2-Av showing is located about 4 kilometres southwest of the village of Yahk.
In general, the region is underlain by argillite, greywacke, wacke and conglomerate turbidites of the Helikian Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup). Gabbro-diorite sills and dikes of the Proterozoic Moyie Intrusions intrude the sequence.
In 2020, sample CK20-2-Av was listed under the vein category by Kootenay Resources and described as being vuggy, brecciated, quartz-crystalline and limonitic, with coarse chlorite(?) and green mica. The rusty vugs have some purple-red colouration. The sample analysed 0.26 per cent zinc and 0.049 per cent lead (Assessment Report 39483). Kootenay reported that the majority of vein samples were of crystalline quartz veining occurring primarily in quartzite units occupying joint fractures.
WORK HISTORY
In 2020, a program of rock and soil sampling was conducted by Kootenay Resources Inc on their Moyie Anticline property utilizing both laboratory and portable XRF analytical techniques (Assessment Report 39483). During the 2020 field program more than 1420 XRF readings were taken and compiled. Several areas with anomalous lead, zinc, copper as well as gold were found during the program. The Moyie Anticline property covered parts of the 082GSW and 082FSE map areas.
