The KT20-159 showing is located about 3 kilometres east of the village of Yahk.
In general, the region is underlain by argillite, greywacke, wacke and conglomerate turbidites of the Helikian Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup). Gabbro-diorite sills and dikes of the Proterozoic Moyie Intrusions intrude the sequence.
In 2020, three samples were collected from a zone of disrupted fragmental rock, from 5 to 6 metres in width, with some greenish chloritic fractures. Sample KT20-159Bf, which returned 0.11 per cent copper, was further described as being biotite and albite altered, having some pyrrhotite (Assessment Report 39483). Kootenay Resources defined the fragmental rock as “fluidized sedimentary breccia units, either crosscutting or conformable with bedding. Clasts and matrix are composed of sedimentary material and commonly associated with hydrothermal activity”.
WORK HISTORY
In 2020, a program of rock and soil sampling was conducted by Kootenay Resources Inc on their Moyie Anticline property utilizing both laboratory and portable XRF analytical techniques (Assessment Report 39483). During the 2020 field program more than 1420 XRF readings were taken and compiled. Several areas with anomalous lead, zinc, copper as well as gold were found during the program. The Moyie Anticline property covered parts of the 082GSW and 082FSE map areas.
