The MG20-12 showing is located about 9 kilometres northeast of the village of Yahk. In general, the region is underlain by argillite, greywacke, wacke and conglomerate turbidites of the Helikian Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup). Gabbro-diorite sills and dikes of the Proterozoic Moyie Intrusions intrude the sequence. Sample MG20-12ag, collected from gabbro, returned 0.1 per cent copper (Assessment Report 39483).
In 2019, Kootenay Gold reported on work completed on the Leaky Pipe property owned by Darlene Lavoie. Significant values in arsenic, cobalt and zinc are reported from samples collected about 1 kilometre east of Sample MG20-12. Leaky Pipe was recorded as a MINFILE occurrence 082FSE181 in 2023.
In 2020, a program of rock and soil sampling was conducted by Kootenay Resources Inc. on their Moyie Anticline property utilizing both laboratory and portable XRF analytical techniques (Assessment Report 39483). During the 2020 field program more than 1420 XRF readings were taken and compiled. Several areas with anomalous lead, zinc, copper as well as gold were found during the program. The Moyie Anticline property covered parts of the 082FSE and 082GSW map areas.
