Capsule Geology

The Fuddle Duddle showing is located about 7 kilometres southwest of the village of Yahk. In general, the region is underlain by argillite, greywacke, wacke and conglomerate turbidites of the Helikian Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup). The showing occurs in a limonitic, sericitic shear zone with narrow quartz veins in phyllite.

Thirty-three samples were collected from the zone of phyllitic, sheared and folded sedimentary rocks. Limonite, iron carbonate, chlorite, bleaching and iron staining was noted in the outcrops. Zones of more discrete shearing trend roughly 340 degrees and dip around 70 degrees to the northeast.

Ten samples returned values greater than 100 parts per billion gold with seven above 250 parts per billion and four above 500 parts per billion. Three samples graded 2.25 gram per tonne gold (CK20-127), 7.34 grams per tonne gold (CK20-110) and 16.92 grams per tonne gold (CK20-109) (Assessment Report 39483).

Lead in this zone is the most consistently elevated base metal with twenty-three samples above 100 parts per million. Seventeen samples gave values greater than 250 parts per million with thirteen above 500 parts per million and 8 over 1000 parts per million. The highest lead values obtained were 0.17 per cent (sample CK20-128), 0.18 per cent (sample CK20-108), and 0.15 per cent (CK20-109) (Assessment Report 39483).

WORK HISTORY

In 2020, a program of rock and soil sampling was conducted by Kootenay Resources Inc. on their Moyie Anticline property utilizing both laboratory and portable XRF analytical techniques (Assessment Report 39483). During the 2020 field program more than 1420 XRF readings were taken and compiled. Several areas with anomalous lead, zinc, copper, as well as gold were found during the program. The Fuddle Duddle showing was considered the most significant find. The Moyie Anticline property covered parts of the 082FSE and 082GSW map areas. Samples taken in 2020 at Fuddle Duddle were CK20-105 to 136 (Assessment Report 39483).
