The Alpine 2000 (Road Zone) occurrence is located in the head waters of Sitkum Creek, south of Mount Cornfield.

The area is dominated by granitic rocks of the Middle to Late Jurassic Nelson Intrusions.

Locally, a mineralized quartz vein is reported. The mineralization is assumed to be similar to that of the nearby Alpine Gold (MINFILE 082FNW127) occurrence. A sample (24604) is reported have assayed 42.05 grams per tonne gold, 377.3 grams per tonne silver, 2.98 per cent lead and 3.28 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 26482).

The showing was first located in the 1980’s during road construction on the nearby Alpine Gold occurrence. In 2000, a minor program of rock sampling and a 0.2 kilometre self-potential survey was completed on the area as the Alpine 2000 property by Tera Ex Mining. In 2011, Matovich Mining Industries completed a program of geological mapping and rock sampling.
