The Toby beryl showing is located approximately thirteen kilometres southwest of Kootenay Lake.
Beryl mineralization is hosted in a fine- to medium-grained K-feldspar-muscovite-biotite pegmatite. The beryl crystals are bluish-green and some have significant gemmy sections. The largest crystal collected was euhedral, hexagonal and translucent with dimensions of 4 by 0.8 centimetres.
