Much of the Early Bird (082FNE017) and the Lakeshore (082FNE018) workings were reported to have taken place on the Carey claim. Galena and sphalerite occur in veins with asociated silver. The zone is reported to 2.4 metres wide. The workings appear to be in limestone of the Mississippian to Lower Permian Milford Group (Bulletin 53, Figure 3).

There is some confusion between this occurrence and the Lakeshore which is reported to have existed on the Carey Crown grant. They were worked in the same years (see Annual Reports 1950 and 1953) but apparently at different locals.
