The Miny showing is located on the north side of McKinney Creek, approximately 6.5 kilometres south of community of Mount Baldy.
The area is underlain by granodiorite of the Middle Jurassic Nelson intrusions.
Locally, a 60 centimetre wide shear zone occurs in the granodiorite.
In 1989, a sample across the shear zone returned 418 parts per billion gold and 5.1 parts per million silver (Lee, L. (1989-01-08): Summary of Field Visit - Miny).
