The oldest rocks in the vicinity of the Rock prospect belong to the Permian to Carboniferous Kobau and Anarchist groups. Amphibolite, greenstone, quartzite, chert, chlorite schist and minor marble comprise the Kobau Group and amphibolite, greenstone, quartz chlorite schist, quartz biotite schist and minor serpentinized peridotite comprise lithologies of the Anarchist Group. Penticton Group lithologies outcrop to the east while Middle Jurassic porphyritic granite, granodiorite and monzonite intrusions are found to the immediate north. Smaller plugs, dikes and sills of biotite granodiorite, quartz diorite and granite of Middle Jurassic to Cretaceous age intrude the Anarchist Group rocks.

At the Rock showing, a stratiform, bedded barite horizon is found in Anarchist assemblage rocks. The barite occurs as lenses and pods with extensive sections of massive, very finely crystalline grey barite. Initial assays indicate the barite is of commercial grade and does not contain detrimental metallic elements (News Release, Orion International Minerals Corporation, July 15, 1996).

Barite of unknown quality and quantity was discovered to occur within the vicinity of the Rock claims in 1989 and 1990. In 1996-1997, Orion International Minerals completed a trenching and core drilling program on the Lapin Barite Project. During this same time period First Point Capital completed a precious metal soil grid over part of the Rock claims. Fifteen (15) core holes, four of which were BX and eleven of which were NQ, were drilled during the 1996-97 work program totaling 528.39 metres. One of the Orion holes is reported to have intersected 0.63 metres of barite at 32.9 metres.

In 1999, Matovich Mining Industries Ltd. collected 6 samples for barium analysis. Initial investigation of the three major Barite occurrences 1n 1999 suggests that the barite bodies are hosted by Paleozoic graphitic argillites near their contact with a greenstone. Analysis of the barite yielded assays ranging from 65.92 to 95.94 per cent barite with the highest grade barite outcrop returning specific gravities of 4.2 and greater to a depth of fourteen metres over a width of five metres (Assessment Report 25974).

In 2003 it was reported that Zena Capital Corp. had optioned the Lapin Barite property and completed 217 metres of drilling in 12 holes. The widest intercept was 10 metres of barite but the average was 5 to 6 metres. In 2004 it was reported that Rock Creek Minerals had carried out diamond drilling at its Lapin Barite property near Bridesville (Exploration and Mining in BC, 2004-72).

The drilling in 2003 by Zena was 12 diamond drillholes, for a total of 203.79 metres. The total drilled in this area is 732.18 metres. In the National Instrument (NI) 43-101 compliant report prepared by Godfrey Walton, PGeo, and supplemented by a mining report, also NI 43-101 compliant, prepared by Mike Petrina, PEng, an estimate of the resource was calculated to be a measured resource of 5800 tonnes of direct shipping barite with a specific gravity of greater than 4.2 and an estimated inferred resource of 4340 tonnes with a specific gravity of 3.5 (Press Release, Zena Capital Corp., April 1, 2004).

Zena Capital Corp. reported on December 13, 2004 that it had conducted a 2004 program of drilling, trenching and soil sampling on its Lapin Barite property. The program successfully outlined an additional barite zone on strike to the initial open-pit zone. This new zone is on a slope and extraction of the barite will be more economical than at the open-pit site. Zena has filed for a permit with the Ministry of Energy and Mines to extract a bulk sample of as much as 10 000 tonnes from this new zone.

Zena Capital Corp. received an order on August 11, 2005, from the mediation and arbitration board of British Columbia granting access to its industrial mineral (barite) claims, which it holds under option, located near Rock Creek, BC. The landowner on whose property the claims are situated has not agreed with the order and, as a result of his disagreement, the application for access must proceed to an arbitration settlement hearing, scheduled to be held on October 28, 2005 (Press Release, Zena Capital Corp., October 3, 2005).

In April 2006, Zena Capital Corp. was granted entry and access to the mineral claims known as Rock 1, 2, 3 and 4 for the purposes of exploration and reclamation.

The Lapin Barite property was dormant from 2006 to 2010.

In 2010, Zena Mining Corp. completed an exploration program which focused on the B zone and produced seven samples which ranged from 75 to 92 per cent barite, with a specific gravity averaging 4.15 (Press Release, Zena Mining Corp., February 22, 2011).

In 2011, Zena Mining Corp. completed an exploration program in the B zone in the Lapin Barite property. Excavator stripping was done on the area, and 26 samples were recovered with a weighted average specific gravity of 4.245 (Press Release, Zena Mining Corp., December 5, 2011).

In 2012, Zena Mining Corp. continued exploring the B zone with excavator stripping. The specific gravity weighted averaged of the three samples tested was 3.83.

Zena Mining Corp. is planning a 2013 exploration program that will included additional stripping of the B zone and possibly further review of the A zone.
