The Boundary Creek placer occurrence is located on Boundary Creek, near its mouth with the Kettle River and northeast of the community of Midway.
The area is underlain by undivided volcanic rocks of the Eocene Penticton Group and syenitic to monzonite intrusive rocks of the Eocene Coryell Plutonic Suite. To the east, chert, siliceous argillite and siliclastic rocks of the Devonian to Permian Knob Hill Group; undivided sedimentary rocks of the Carboniferous to Permian Attwood Group and ultramafic rocks of the Carboniferous to Permian Mount Roberts Formation are exposed. These have been intruded by granodiorite and granite and of the Cretaceous Anstey pluton.
Locally, placer gold is reported to occur in the fluvial gravels of Boundary Creek.
The area has been explored since for placer gold since at least 1862. Recent placer claims have been recorded in the Norwegian Creek area. No reports of production are known.
