The area of the PBE 626 showing occurs in an area underlain by undivided sedimentary rocks of the Triassic Brooklyn Formation and Devonian to Permian rocks of the Knob Hill Group. These are intruded by dikes, sills and plutons of the Eocene Coryell Plutonic Suite which are syenitic to monzonitic in composition. The Paleozoic rocks, consist primarily of greenstone, chert, argillite and limestone.
Cronus Minerals sampled a white quartz vein on their PBE 26 claim in 1971. A selected grab assayed 1995.45 grams per tonne silver; another sample assayed 0.11 per cent copper (Assessment Report 3172, Map 18). Gold and molybedenum values showed traces only. Property maps indicate that granodiorite and argillite underlie the immediate area of the showing.
In 1970 or just prior thereto, Boundary Exploration Limited conducted trenching on their SD claims. In 1971, Cronus Minerals Limited conducted an airborne magnetometer and scintillometer survey over their SD and PBE claims. In 1978, the Kargen Development Corp. conducted a 44 kilometre magnetometer survey in the area on its DOE, DAF, FO and Dill claims.
During 2008 through 2012, Grizzly Discoveries Inc. completed programs of geochemical sampling, geological mapping and ground geophysical surveys on the area as the Attwood area of the Greenwood property.
