In 1970, chalcopyrite, bornite and chalcocite within a fracture zone in Triassic Brooklyn limestone was reported by Pechiney Development Limited to occur on the Poppy claims.
In 1981, D.F Pasco held the Jr. 1 and Jr. 2 claims which appear to have covered the same ground as the Poppy showings. The Jr claims were reported to cover massive pods of bornite with some sphalerite hosted in crystalline limestone. Good silver values are said to occur. The zone was traced for 20 metres and varied up to 2 metres in width. A dike of pulaskite and a felsic volcanic with feldspar phenocrysts occurs nearby. It was reported in 1981 that the showing was originally discoverd in about 1954. Two diamond-drill holes totaling 76.5 metres were completed in 1981. The holes were drilled from the same location but failed to intersect any mineralization. During 2008 through 2012, Grizzly Discoveries Inc. completed programs of geochemical sampling, geological mapping and ground geophysical surveys on the area as the Greenwood property.
