Capsule Geology

The, former, Rusty claims are located north of Canyon Creek, near its junction with the Kettle River, approximately 32 kilometres north of the community of Westbridge.

The area is underlain by Upper Paleozoic volcanic rocks of the Anarchist Group. The rocks are locally brecciated and silicified. Locally, there are northwest- trending feldspar porphyry and diorite dikes.

Mineralization occurs in 0.15 to 0.25 metre breccia zones containing pyrite, arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite.

In 1971, a visual inspection by W.M. Sirola, suggested 1 to 2 per cent copper (Property File - Sirola, W. M. (1971-11-22): McNeil Enterprises - Rusty Group, East Kettle River Area).
